Robots at CES 2018: Delivery Robots

An autonomous parcel-delivery robot.
This robot has a cool mechanical design that reminds me of a droid from Star Wars.

The wheel design is interesting. It’s like a hub wheel or Kerry McLean’s monocycle.
I’m not clear on the benefits of using this novel type of wheel for delivery applications.
However, another robot with a similar design is the “Gita” luggage carrying robot by Piaggio.

They’re working on a quadrupedal delivery robot called “Aida”.
They were showing a prototype of a single robotic leg actuator. You can see the concept design for the quadruped robot in their promotional poster below (Fig. 4).
They also had a wheeled mobile robot on display.
